A Group for Discussion, Practice and Application
Millions of people have read Eckhart Tolle’s book, “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose.” Millions of people have also viewed the ten related webcasts Eckhart did with Oprah, and many are continuing to follow Oprah’s Soul Series.
Yet, repeatedly, clients have asked questions about how to practice and apply the concepts in this transformational book to their own lives. They “know” that there is much truth contained in the writings of Eckhart Tolle, among others. However, as with many “self-help” books, most people have limited ability to actually utilize the information in the book on their own.
Unfortunately, none of us can have Eckhart Tolle or someone like him sitting on our shoulder, whispering in our ear as to how we can change the way we are reacting in a particular situation, or how we can be more authentic instead of acting from our “automatic” or “role” set of behaviors.
It is for this reason that I am offering to interested adults the opportunity to participate in a group based upon “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose.”
The requirements to participate are:
- Be an adult who is serious about his/her personal growth
- Be open to new and sometimes challenging ideas about who we are and the world in which we live
- Commit to attending group sessions
- Commit to reading “A New Earth” and other associated readings
- Commit to exercises and “experiments” outside of group sessions

A New Earth
Logistics
All group sessions will be held on Wednesday at 1380 Lead Hill Blvd., Suite 110, in Roseville. The first group session will be held on June 18th.
You may choose from any one of four times:
Group One: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Group Two: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
Group Three: 5:00 PM– 6:30 PM
Group Four: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
All groups will be limited in size in order to allow for participation by all members. In addition, all groups will be open to both women and men. I encourage all of you who had a preference for a “men only” or a “women only” group to be open to participation in a gender-mixed group for the purposes of your own personal growth and transformation. We all interact with people of both genders every day and all of us can learn much from others’ experiences.
FEES
The fee structure for the groups is as follows:
$30 a session, if check or cash.
$32 a session if credit or debit card.
$25 a session if 4 consecutive sessions are paid for in advance: cash, check, credit or debit card.
INCIDENTALS
- I will occasionally permit people to participate in a group different from their primary group. I would like this to be limited, though, in order to strengthen and maintain group cohesion.
- This is not group therapy, so the group participants can be friends, relatives, etc. I will be acting as a facilitator as well as using my professional expertise to contribute and manage the group sessions.
- Drop-ins will be allowed on occasion if not disruptive to the group.
- I will provide participants with a personal notebook in order to help organize the material we will be covering. Please bring this notebook to each group session.
- Please bring your copy of “A New Earth” to each group session.
- Group sessions will begin on time and end on time. I expect all participants to abide by our time schedule.
- I am open to feedback at any time from all participants. Please feel free to make suggestions either in the group or through email to me personally.
- If group members are agreeable, I will compile a group list of names, phone numbers, and email addresses to share with that particular group, only.
Dr. Jennings has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, an M.A. in social psychology, a certification in religious education and has worked in the areas of spirituality and psychology for over 30 years.
